Christie’s to Offer 127ct. Diamond Without Reserve

A 126.76-carat diamond will go under the hammer at the upcoming Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction in New York, with a price estimate of up to $15 million.

The pear brilliant-cut, D-color, internally flawless stone, known as the Light of Peace Diamond, will appear without a reserve price at the June 7 sale, Christie’s said Monday.

The diamond was previously the property of the Zale Corporation, which called it the Zale Light of Peace Diamond. The Zale family arranged showings of the diamond and used income from the ticket sales to establish a fund for peace-supporting missions, Christie’s noted. In a nod to the charitable efforts of the Zale family, the diamond’s current owners will donate a portion of its proceeds to the USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

This cushion modified brilliant-cut, 3.10-carat, fancy-vivid-blue, VS2-clarity diamond ring carries an estimate of $4.2 million to $5.2 million.
A cushion mixed-cut, 71.27-carat Burmese sapphire and diamond pendant is expected to fetch between $3 million and $5 million.
The auction house will offer this cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant, 2.97-carat, fancy-vivid-blue, VS1-clarity, type IIb diamond ring for $2.5 million to $3.5 million.
This Chaumet Art Deco necklace from the Rothschild collection contains nine square- and emerald-cut Colombian emeralds ranging from 2.96 to 10.28 carats, and diamonds weighing between 1.20 and 3.07 carats. The piece, which dates to 1930, has a high estimate of $3 million.
A Verdura ring featuring a pear brilliant-cut, 2.55-carat, fancy-intense-blue, VS2-clarity diamond and a cushion-shaped Burmese ruby has a price range of $1.5 million to $2.5 million.
This ring bears a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 4.01-carat, fancy-intense-pink, VVS1-clarity diamond surrounded by pink and white diamonds. It has a high estimate of $2.5 million.
Christie’s will also auction a cultured-pearl, ruby, diamond and emerald brooch by artist Salvador Dali, created in 1950. The starfish-shaped jewel has a presale price of up to $1.5 million.
This round-cornered square step-cut, 50.40-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VVS2-clarity diamond pendant is set to go under the hammer for up to $1.2 million.
A pendant by Van Cleef & Arpels with a cushion mixed-cut, 53.84-carat Colombian emerald and diamonds has a presale price of $800,000 to $1.2 million.
